The world premiere of High Noon will open on Broadway in 2023. The stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning 1952 film marks the first Western play to premiere on Broadway this century.

High Noon follows Marshal Will Kane as he decides whether to face his enemies alone or leave with his wife. High Noon received seven Academy Awards, including a Best Actor award for Gary Cooper, Best Screenplay and Best Picture. In 1989, High Noon was selected by the Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."

Eric Roth writes the High Noon screenplay, and Michael Arden directs.  The upcoming Broadway production will take place in real-time over the course of two hours, similar to the film.

"When Eric Roth presented his vision for a stage adaptation of High Noon, I immediately saw the potential for a theatrical presentation of the iconic story about doing the right thing in spite of public opinion and external pressure," said producer, Paula Wagner. "Mr. Roth will bring these classic characters to life in a timeless situation of bravery and civic responsibility."

A Broadway theatre, dates, casting, and a creative team for High Noon will be announced at a later date.
