Welcome to Fleet Street! Joe Locke will join the Sweeney Todd Broadway cast at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre beginning January 31.

Locke makes his Broadway debut in the role of Tobias, originated in this production by fellow TV star Gaten Matarazzo. Locke is best known for playing the starring role of Charlie Spring in the Netflix TV series Heartstopper. He is also set to star in Disney+ and Marvel's Agatha: Darkhold Diaries next year.

The current cast of Sweeney Todd on Broadway features Josh Groban as Sweeney Todd, Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett, Daniel Yearwood as Anthony, Ruthie Ann Miles as the Beggar Woman, Maria Bilbao as Johanna, Jamie Jackson as Judge Turpin, John Rapson as Beadle Bamford, Nicholas Christopher as Pirelli/standby for Sweeney Todd, and Jeanna de Waal as the standby for Mrs. Lovett/Beggar Woman.

Beginning February 9, Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster will star as Sweeney and Lovett, respectively.

Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's musical thriller follows the title barber, who concocts a murderous revenge plot on a judge who wronged him — with a little help from pie shop owner Mrs. Lovett. The musical won two Tony Awards in 2023.
