Danny and the Deep Blue Sea is making a splash! The Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott-led revival of John Patrick Shanley's play has extended off Broadway. The show will now run for one extra week, through January 13, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea follows Danny and Roberta, two self-destructive and troubled people who forge an unexpected, potentially life-changing connection one night at a Bronx dive bar. New York Theatre Guide's four-star review called the show "a blistering cocktail of hurt and fear and, eventually, hope."

Shanley's play returns to New York for the first time since 2004, and the current revival marks Plaza's stage debut. She also reunites with Abbott, with whom she previously starred on screen in the movie Black Bear.
