'Cold War Choir Practice' names Off-Broadway cast and creative team
Multiple performers announced for the critically acclaimed play's winter 2026 run will return from its world-premiere production earlier this summer.

MCC Theater, Clubbed Thumb, and Page 73 have named the cast and creative team for their production of Cold War Choir Practice off Broadway, running at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space from February 21 to March 29, 2026. Opening night is March 10.
The Cold War Choir Practice cast includes Alana Raquel Bowers as Meek, Will Cobbs as Smooch, Crystal Finn as Virgie, Andy Lucien as Clay, Lizan Mitchell as Puddin, Suzzy Roche and Nina Ross as members of the Choir, and Ellen Winter as the Choir Leader. All but Finn return from the show's premiere at Clubbed Thumb’s Summerworks festival earlier this year, and one more cast member will be announced at a later date.
The creative team, led by Tony Award-nominated director Knud Adams, includes scenic designer Afsoon Pajoufar, costume designer Brenda Abbandandolo, lighting designer Masha Tsimring, sound designer Kathy Ruvuna, music director Ellen Winter, and movement directors Baye & Asa.
Ro Reddick's Cold War Choir Practice follows a young girl whose estranged uncle, a prominent Black conservative, brings his mysteriously sick wife home for the holidays, embroiling the girl in intrigue. Reaganomics, espionage, roller disco, cults, and the Syracuse, New York chapter of the Seedlings of Peace Children’s Chorus all combine in this play with music.
