Broadway Bounty Hunter sets early closing date

Joe Iconis' Broadway Bounty Hunter will play its final performance at the Greenwich House Theater on August 18, 2019.

Producers of the New York premiere of Broadway Bounty Hunter, a new musical comedy by Joe Iconis (also currently represented on Broadway by Be More Chill), have announced an early closing date for the production. The tuner began previews at off-Broadway's Greenwich House Theater on July 9, 2019, and officially opened on July 23. Originally scheduled to play through September 15, 2019, the production will now close on August 18, after 48 performances.

Synopsis: "Broadway Bounty Hunter is a fierce, funny and fearless new musical comedy inspired by the exploitation movies of the 1970s. Annie, a down-on-her-luck actress of a certain age, is asked to become a bounty hunter and capture a South American drug lord, as the musical chronicles a woman's journey to find her inner strength and true badass identity - and save the theatre."

Broadway Bounty Hunter features music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, with a book by Mr. Iconis, Lance Rubin, and Jason SweetTooth Williams and the Off-Broadway production is directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner.

The cast is led by "Orange Is the New Black" star Annie Golden, alongside Alan H. Green (as Lazarus), Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar (as Mac Roundtree), Emily Borromeo (as Shiro Jin), Badia Farha (as Sienna), Jasmine Forsberg (as Cortnie/Indigo), Omar Garibay (as Spark Plug/Director), Jared Joseph (as Felipe), and Christina Sajous (as Claudine Machine/Janessa). 

Broadway veteran Anne L. Nathan covers the titular role at Saturday matinee performances, whilst Emilie Battle serves as swing.

The creative team features music supervision and orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, vocal arrangements by Joel Waggoner, music direction by Geoffrey Ko, scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, lighting design by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, costume & wig design by Sarafina Bush, projection design by Brad Peterson, and sound design by Cody Spencerwith Nehemiah Luckett serving as Artistic Consultant.

Broadway Bounty Hunter held its world premiere at Barrington Stage in 2016 and this Off-Broadway premiere is produced by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and Allison Bressi.

Broadway Bounty Hunter Tickets are available now for performances through August 18, 2019.
