‘BOOP! The Musical’ to close on Broadway

The three-time Tony Award-nominated show at the Broadhurst Theatre follows classic cartoon character Betty Boop on an adventure through modern-day New York City.

BOOP! The Musical has set its closing date on Broadway, playing its final performance at the Broadhurst Theatre on July 13. At the time of closing, the show will have played 137 total performances.

Starring 2025 Tony Award nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers in the title role, BOOP! The Musical follows Betty Boop as she takes a day off from her ultra-famous life in Toon Town and travels to present-day NYC, experiencing a world of color for the first time. There, she pursues new friendships, romance, and adventure.

The family-friendly musical features a book by Bob Martin, music by David Foster, lyrics by Susan Birkenhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. It was nominated for three Tony Awards: Best Leading Actress in a Musical for Rogers, Best Choreography for Mitchell, and Best Costume Design of a Musical for Gregg Barnes.

Alongside Rogers, the BOOP! cast includes Tony Award winner Faith Prince as Valentina, Ainsley Melham as Dwayne, Erich Bergen as Raymond, Stephen DeRosa as Grampy, Anastacia McCleskey as Carol, Angelica Hale as Trisha, Phillip Huber as Pudgy the Dog, and Aubie Merrylees as Oscar.
