This is not over yet! The acclaimed 2022 Encores! production of Parade has set a Broadway transfer for the spring, with Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner Ben Platt reprising his leading role. Performances run at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre from February 21 to August 6, with a March 16 opening night.

Platt returns to Broadway for the first time since his Tony-winning turn in Dear Evan Hansen's title role in 2016. He is also known for The Book of Mormon along with screen appearances in Pitch Perfect and The Politician. In Parade, he stars as real-life Jewish American factory manager Leo Frank.

Micaela Diamond, known for starring in The Cher Show, will also return to her role from the Encores! production as Leo's wife, Lucille Frank.

Parade is based on the real-life trial and eventual lynching of Frank, who was accused of murdering a 13-year-old employee. The show follows how the case played out in 1913 Georgia, with Frank becoming the target of media sensationalism and anti-Semitism that tests his and Lucille's marriage.

This Broadway revival is Parade's first. The show, directed and co-conceived by Harold Prince, originally premiered in 1998 and won two Tony Awards: Best Book of a Musical (for Alfred Uhry) and Best Original Score (for Jason Robert Brown).

This Platt-led Parade production, directed by Tony nominee Michael Arden, premiered in November 2022 as part of New York City Center's Encores! series for seldom revived musicals. A New York Times review called it "the best-sung musical in many a New York season."

Additional casting for the Broadway transfer has yet to be announced. The Encores! cast also included Gaten Matarazzo, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Florrie Bagel, Stacie Bono, Harry Bouvy, Tanner Callicutt, Courtnee Carter, Anthony Chatmon II, Max Chernin, Eddie Cooper, John Dossett, Erin Rose Doyle, Caroline Fairweather, Manoel Felciano, Brody Grant, Alex Joseph Grayson, Danielle Lee Greaves, Christopher Gurr, Sean Allan Krill, Douglas Lyons, Erin Mackey, Ashlyn Maddox, Sophia Manicone, Howard McGillin, William Michals, Paul Alexander Nolan, Sofie Poliakoff, Jackson Teeley, and Jennifer Laura Thompson.

On the creative side, Parade on Broadway features choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant, scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, sound design by Jon Weston, projection design by Sven Ortel, music direction by Tom Murray, and hair and wig design by Tom Watson.
