Ben Davis is set to join the cast of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever at Irish Rep

Mr. Davis assumes the role of Dr. Mark Bruckner in the Irish Repertory Theatre revival of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever from August 9, 2018.

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced that Ben Davis will assume the role of Dr. Mark Bruckner in its current off-Broadway revival of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, which began previews on June 15, 2018, officially opened on June 28 and is set to play an extended limited engagement through to September 6, 2018. Mr. Davis assumes the role from current cast member Stephen Bogardus from August 9, as Mr. Bogardus exits the production to begin rehearsals for the Public Theater's U.S. premiere of Bob Dylan musical play Girl from the North Country.

Ben Davis' Broadway credits include VioletA Little Night MusicLes MisérablesThoroughly Modern Millie and La Bohème, for which he received a Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre in 2003. He has also appeared in the National Tours of The Sound of MusicLes Misérables, and Monty Python's Spamalot.

Directed and adapted by Charlotte Moore, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever features music by Burton Lane and a book & lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner.

Synopsis: "Daisy Gamble is a woman of extrasensory talents - she sings and flowers bloom, and she always knows where you've placed your keys - but it's her smoking habit that leads her to Dr. Mark Bruckner, a psychiatrist who will attempt to hypnotize her addiction away. In Daisy, Dr. Bruckner discovers the case - and perhaps the love - of his life as he unlocks Daisy's past self, an 18th century British aristocrat named Melinda Welles. Mark becomes increasingly enamored of Melinda as he watches her relive her great love affair with Edward Moncrief. All is going well until Mark decides to publish his findings, and Daisy realizes she's been unwittingly along for the ride!"

The cast of On a Clear Day includes Tony Award nominee Stephen Bogardus (as Dr. Mark Bruckner), John Cudia (as Edward Moncrief), and Tony Award nominee Melissa Errico (as Daisy Gamble/Melinda Welles), alongside Florrie Bagel (as Flora), Rachel Coloff (as Mrs. Hatch), Caitlin Gallogly (as Janie Preston), Daisy Hobbs (as Muriel Benson) and Craig Waletzko (as Conrad), with ensemble members William BellamyPeyton Crim, and Matt Gibson.

The creative team features music direction by John Bell, choreography by Barry McNabb, orchestrations by Josh Clayton, scenic design by James Morgan, lighting design by Mary Jo Dondlinger, sound design by M. Florian Staab, and projection design by Ryan Belock. Gary Adler serves as conductor for the production.
