5 Broadway artists who could win back-to-back Tony Awards in 2025
Jonathan Groff, Kara Young, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Danya Taymor, and Justin Peck won top prizes in 2024, and they're back on the nominees list once again.
Make theirs a double. Winning a Tony Award once is amazing — but two years in a row? That’s legendary. It sends the message that you’re not just good, you’re consistently so.
When the Tonys broadcast airs live from Radio City Music Hall on June 8, multiple 2025 Tony Award nominees are in the running to take home Broadway’s most coveted prize again after doing so in 2024. Two actors, a director, a playwright, and a choreographer are among the high-flying group.
Consecutive wins of Broadway’s biggest prize bring pride, joy, and a dash of disbelief. Winners in this year’s crew would join an exclusive league of consecutive winners that includes actors Laurie Metcalf and Judith Light, director Mike Nichols, and director/choreographer Tommy Tune.
Read on for fast facts about Broadway’s potential repeat winners this year.
