4000 Miles announces cast
LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced that Greta Lee and Zoe Winters will join the previously announced Gabriel Ebert and Mary Louise Wilson will be featured in its world premiere production of 4000 Miles, a new play by Amy Herzog, directed by Daniel Aukin, the third production of LCT3's 2010-2011 season.
4000 Miles will open at The Duke on 42nd Street on 20 Jun 2011, following previews from 6 Jun, and play through to 2 Jul 2011.
4000 Miles: After losing his best friend while they were on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother in her West Village apartment.
The creative team features sets by Lauren Helpern, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Ryan Rumery.
Playwright Amy Herzog also wrote 'After The Revolution,' which just completed a run at Playwrights Horizons. Her plays have been produced or developed at the Yale School of Drama, Ensemble Studio Theater, Arena Stage, New York Stage and Film, Provincetown Playhouse and ACT in San Francisco.
Director Daniel Aukin was artistic director of Soho Repertory Theatre where his productions included 'Everything Will Be Different,' 'Suitcase' (which he also directed at the La Jolla Playhouse), 'Molly's Dream' and '(sic)' (for which he won an Obie Award). He has also directed at Playwrights Horizons, the New York Theatre Workshop, The Play Company, Guthrie Theater, and Minneapolis' The Children's Theatre Company.
