Ato Blankson-Wood stars as Terence Alan Smith/Joan Jett Blakk in Ms. Blakk for President off Broadway at Vineyard Theatre starting October 22, 2026.
Blankson-Wood is a Tony, Drama League, and Lucille Lortel Award nominee for starring in Slave Play on Broadway, and his other Broadway credits include Cabaret, Hair, and Lysistrata Jones. Beyond Broadway, he earned Drama League and Lucille Lortel Award nominations for starring in the musical The Total Bent at The Public Theater, and he has also acted in many classic plays off Broadway, like Shakespeare's Hamlet and Pericles (both in the title role) and Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night.
