Get Jackals tickets when they go on sale on New York Theatre Guide to see the premiere of this dystopian new play by Tony Award-nominated playwright Adam Rapp (The Outsiders). Jackals plays for a limited run only at The New Group, taking part in that Tony Award-winning company's inaugural season at its new home, the Theatre at St. Clement's in Midtown.

In Jackals off Broadway, another pandemic has taken over. Set in the near future, the play follows single mother Orla Blanton who lives in a city in middle America with her son, a teenager. Orla wants a better life for herself and her son, but she can only pick one — and her son's ticket out may be his distinct gift and a prized commodity: his immune system. A haunting and futuristic thriller, Jackals asks how far a mother's love can go in the face of adversity to challenge impossible circumstances.

Adam Rapp is an Obie Award winner and Pulitzer Prize finalist known for his daring plays, including The Sound Inside on Broadway starring Mary-Louise Parker. The New Group also enlists top talent for its plays, which range from new works to revivals. This is a premiere, directed by Carolyn Cantor who has over a decade of experience staging new plays on prestigious New York stages, including Playwrights Horizons, Ars Nova, and Second Stage.

Also part of The Group's season are the plays The Adding Machine and Bocking. A revered company for decades, The New Group now puts down roots at the Theatre at St. Clement's where it signed a 30-year lease. That church has long been a presenter for theatre works, but now it gives The New Group, previously itinerant, a constant home to work out of starting this year.
