WP Theater has confirmed details of its upcoming 2019-2020 season, which includes two world premieres at its off-Broadway home of the McGinn/Cazale Theater.

From September 11 to October 20, 2019, WP Theater and Second Stage Theater present the world premiere of Alexis Scheer's Our Dear Dead Drug Lord. The co-production is scheduled for an official opening on September 24.

Synopsis: "In this fierce and feverish world premiere comedy, a gang of teenage girls gathers in an abandoned treehouse to summon the ghost of Pablo Escobar. Are they messing with the actual spirit of the infamous cartel kingpin? Or are they really just messing with each other? A rollercoaster ride through the danger and damage of girlhood - the teenage wasteland has never been so much twisted fun."

Our Dear Dead Drug Lord is presented by special arrangement with Benjamin Simpson and Joseph Longthorne.

Then from February 1 to March 1, 2020, WP Theater and Baltimore Center Stage present the world premiere of Where We Stand, written by Donnetta Lavinia Grays and directed by Tamilla Woodard. An official opening is set for February 13.

Synopsis: "In a town running low on compassion, an exile seeks forgiveness, forcing the community to decide between mercy or justice. A storyteller spins a tale of a lonely soul tempted by the devil's kindness on a fateful trip to the crossroads. Where We Stand is an epic fable of penance filled with humor, heart, and music."

WP Theater's 2019-2020 season will also include a Third Biennial Pipeline Festival (from March 26 to April 25, 2020) and the Parity Plays Festival Reading Series (in spring 2020, in partnership with Colt Coeur).

Casting and additional creative team information for the two world premiere productions will be announced at a later date.
