The play begins during Amir's childhood in Afghanistan, when a terrible incident is about to tear him apart from his best friend for good. Decades later, Amir is living in America and learns of a way he can make up for what he did to his friend all those years ago, so he ventures back into war-torn Afghanistan for a chance at redemption.
