'Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical' to return off Broadway

The musical previously ran in summer 2021.

New York is getting turned upside down! Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, based on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, is returning off Broadway for a limited engagement this fall. Performances run from September 12 to January 1, with an opening night of September 22.

Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical leans into the "campy 80s glory" of the TV show, about a group of children in 1980s Indiana that must face down monsters from another dimension. The musical features satirized versions of all your favorite characters: Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Joyce, Hopper, and plenty more. Expect plenty of dancing monsters, huge hair, hormonal teens, and perhaps justice for Barb Holland within this story and its songs.

Unlike its first Off-Broadway run at the Players Theatre, the 2022 production, at Playhouse 46 @ St. Luke's, will be immersive and in the round, with audience members on all sides of, and sometimes part of, the action.

The show features a book, music, and lyrics by Jonathan Hogue; direction by Nick Flatto; choreography by Ashley Marinelli; and music direction, orchestrations, and arrangements by Michael Kaish.
