She's simply the best! Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will assume the titular role in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical beginning November 2. As previously announced, Tony nominee Adrienne Warren will play the role from October 8, when Tina resumes performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Her limited run will be through October 31.

Obi-Melekwe first played Tina on the West End in 2019, but she left later that year to join the original Broadway cast as the Tina alternate. Warren originated the role on the West End and later on Broadway, earning Best Actress Tony and Olivier Award nominations for her performances.

The principal Broadway cast also includes Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts as Ike, Dawnn Lewis as Zelma, Tony nominee Myra Lucretia Taylor as Gran Georgeanna, and Jessica Rush as Rhonda.

Tina is a bio-musical telling the life of the rock 'n' roll icon from her beginnings as a church singer in Tennessee to her transformation into a globally renowned star. The show features a book by Katori Hall, Frank Ketelaar, and Kees Prins accompanied by Turner's greatest hits. Phyllida Lloyd directs the production.
