Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Colin Woodell to star in Second Stage Theater's Dying City

Dying City will play a limited engagement at 2ST's Tony Kiser Theater from May 14 to June 30, 2019.

Second Stage Theater has now announced casting for the final off-Broadway production of its 40th Anniversary season. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Colin Woodell will star as Kelly and Craig/Peter, respectively, in Christopher Shinn's previously announced 2008 Pulitzer Prize finalist drama Dying City, which is scheduled to begin previews at the Tony Kiser Theater on May 14, 2019, ahead of an official opening on June 3 and a limited run through to June 30, 2019.

Ms. Winstead is best known for her career on screen having appeared in such films as "10 Cloverfield Lane," "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," "Smashed," "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," and "Die Hard 4.0," any many more. She is currently filming the upcoming DC Comic movie "Birds of Prey" and starring as Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress. Mr. Woodell's screen credits include "The Purge," "Unfriended: Dark Web," and "Unsane." Both actors are making their New York stage debuts with Dying City

Synopsis: "Dying CIty is an intimate and compassionate play set in a sparse Manhattan apartment, where a young widow receives an unexpected visit from the twin brother of her deceased husband. It explores the human fallout of global events, including the Iraq War and the terrorist attacks of 9/11, through the interwoven stories of three unforgettable characters."

Under the direction of Lila Neugebauer, the creative team behind Dying City features scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and sound design by Bray Poor.

Second Stage's current world premiere musical Superhero continues at the Tony Kiser Theater through to March 31, 2019.
