Manhattan Theatre Club has announced the full cast to star in the world premiere of Jeff Augustin's The New Englanders to be performed at New York City Center's Studio at Stage II. The production is scheduled to begin previews on September 17, 2019, ahead of an official opening on October 2.

The production is made up of six performers, starring Javier Muñoz as Raul, whose previous Broadway credits include the titular role in Hamilton and Usnavi in In the Heights. The role of Samuel will be played by Patrick Breen, whose film credits include "Men in Black" and "For Love of Money," and who previously starred in the Broadway production of Brighton Beach Memoirs.

The cast is completed by Teagle F. Bougere (as Aaron), Crystal Finn (as Laura Charpie), Uly Schlesinger (as Atlas) and Kara Young (as Eisa).

Synopsis: "Can you ever really live the life you envisioned? In a mixed race family, a teenaged daughter and her dads are all trying to find happiness. Eisa wants to be the next Lauryn Hill and is struggling to break free of her sleepy New England town where she feels hopelessly trapped. Her fathers are being pulled in different directions of their own, one trying to re-connect with an old love, the other clinging to the path he always believed would be their future."

The creative team behind The New Englanders features direction by Saheem Ali, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, and sound design by Palmer Heffernan.
