A chapter is closing for Between the Lines. The Off-Broadway musical based on Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer's novel will now close on September 11. The show was previously set to run at the Tony Kiser Theater through October 2.

Between the Lines follows Delilah, a lonely teenager whose closest companion is her favorite book — until the prince from that book comes alive and befriends her. Though all seems suddenly perfect as she steps into the book's world, the line between what's real and what's fantasy blurs. The same-named young adult novel came out in 2012 and was a #1 New York Times Bestseller, winning the Young Adult Library Services Association's Top Ten Teen Award a year later.

The musical adaptation has been playing in New York since June. The New York Theatre Guide review calls the show "delicious eye candy" and reads "Between the Lines ultimately is a celebration of the surprising and even game-changing payoffs of reading. That's a message that hits the right note."

The cast of Between the Lines off Broadway includes Arielle Jacobs as Delilah alongside Jake David Smith, Julia Murney, Vicki Lewis, Hillary Fisher, Will Burton, Jerusha Cavazos, John Rapson, Wren Rivera, and Sean Stack. Read an interview with Arielle Jacobs on Between the Lines.

The show also features a book by Timothy Allen McDonald, music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, direction by Jeff Calhoun, and choreography by Paul McGill.
