Between the Lines is starting a new chapter! The new musical based on the novel by mother-and-daughter team Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, will play a limited engagement at Second Stage Theater's Tony Kiser Theater beginning June 14, 2022. The musical was originally scheduled to go up in April 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.

The protagonist of Between the Lines, Delilah, is a new student at her school who struggles to fit in. She looks to her favorite book for comfort when her real world is unwelcoming; however, the lines between her life and fantasy begin to get blurred.

The musical adaptation features a book by Timothy Allen McDonald, music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel & Kate Anderson, orchestrations and arrangements by Tony Award nominee Gregory Rassen, and music direction by Daniel Green. Two-time Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun directs, and Paul McGill choreographs, replacing originally announced choreographer Lorin Latarro.

Casting has yet to be confirmed. Arielle Jacobs, Jason Gotay and Morgan Siobhan Green were set to star in the production in 2020, but it is unknown if any of the originally announced cast will return.

Between the Lines tickets will be available on New York Theatre Guide Soon.
