Trouble in Mind, Alice Childress's meta-theatrical play about the Broadway industry, will host a rush ticket program through TodayTix for its run at the American Airlines Theatre. To reflect the year the play was originally meant to premiere on Broadway, rush tickets will be priced at $19.57 each.

Rush tickets will be made available at 10 a.m. each performance day on the TodayTix app. Users must download the app and "unlock" the rush program by sharing about the show on Facebook or Twitter. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and users can set an alert on the app to be notified when rush tickets become available each morning. Read about more Broadway and Off-Broadway shows that offer rush tickets here.

Trouble in Mind follows seasoned actress Wiletta, played by real-life Broadway veteran LaChanze, as she gets a leading role in a major Broadway production. However, under all-white male leadership, Wiletta finds herself in a toxic rehearsal environment that promotes racial stereotypes and harm, and she wrestles with whether keeping the role will mean compromising her principles. Childress's play was supposed to have its Broadway premiere more than 60 years ago but was cancelled. Trouble in Mind now begins performances October 29 ahead of a November 10 opening night, and will run through January 9, 2022.
