The Broadway premiere of The Kite Runner, which is at the Hayes Theater this summer, will offer rush tickets on TodayTix throughout its run. Performances begin on July 6 and go through October 30.

A limited number of $35 rush tickets will be available on the TodayTix app at 9 a.m. each day. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and each user can request up to two tickets for that afternoon or evening's performance. Users can "unlock" rush tickets ahead of time by posting about the rush program on social media, and they can set an alert to be notified when tickets are available each day.

Based on Khaled Hosseini's New York Times bestselling 2003 book, The Kite Runner follows two childhood friends whose perfect day at a kite-flying contest ends with an incident that tears their friendship apart. Years later, one of the friends, Amir, has moved out of his home country of Afghanistan to the U.S., but returns to his homeland amid war when he learns of a chance to make amends.

Matthew Spangler has adapted Hosseini's story for the stage, and Giles Croft directs. Spangler and Croft's production had its world premiere in California in 2009 and has since played two acclaimed runs in London's West End before debuting on Broadway.
