'The Connector' sets Off-Broadway cast, including Scott Bakula
The new musical at MCC Theater, which features a score by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, begins performances in January and runs for five weeks only.
MCC Theater has set the cast and creative team for The Connector, a world-premiere musical running from January 12 to February 18. Opening night is February 6.
Four-time Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Scott Bakula will star alongside Joanna Carpenter, Max Crumm, Hannah Cruz, George Dvorsky, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, Danielle Lee Greaves, Mylinda Hull, Daniel Jenkins, Cedric Lamar, Jessica Molaskey, Fergie Philippe, Eliseo Román, Ben Levi Ross, Ann Sanders, Kyle Sherman, and Michael Winther.
As previously announced, the creative team is led by conceiver/director Daisy Prince, composer Jason Robert Brown, book writer Jonathan Marc Sherman, and choreographer Karla Puno Garcia.
The Connector will also feature scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Márion Tálan de la Rosa, lighting design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, sound design by Jon Weston, orchestrations and arrangements by Brown, music direction by Tom Murray, and music coordination by Kristy Norter. Brown will also conduct.
Set in the 1990s, The Connector takes its name from a fictional newspaper where fast-rising journalist Ethan Dobson will do anything to get the ultimate scoop and become the next media sensation. And assistant copy editor Robin Martinez will go to equally great lengths to stop him.
