Talk Radio: Sebastian Stan, Christine Pedi and Barbara Rosenblat join cast
Sebastian Stan, Christine Pedi and Barbara Rosenblat join the cast of Eric Bogosian's drama, Talk Radio, opens at the Longacre Theatre on 25 Feb 2007, following previews from 9 Feb 2007.
They join the previously announced Liev Schreiber (Barry Champlain), Peter Hermann (Dan Woodruff ), Stephanie March (Linda MacArthur) and Erik Jensen (Stu Noonan).
Sebastian Stan has appeared in London's Shakespeare Globe Theatre's productions of Twelfth Night and Pericles. His film credits include The Covenant, The Architect (2006) and Red Doors. Talk Radio will mark Mr Stan's Broadway debut.
Christine Pedi made her Broadway debut in Little Me (Revival 1998). Pedi was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical in 1996 for her performance in the off-Broadway musical-revue 'Forbidden Hollywood'.
Barbara Rosenblat made her Broadway debut playing the role of Mrs. Medlock in the musical The Secret Garden (1991).
Talk Radio: an acerbic radio talk show host based in Dallas starts what could be an important few days when he discovers that his controversial late night show is about to be "picked up" by a nationwide network of radio stations. However, all is not perfect for him, because on top of troubles with his love life and fears that the management of the network will try to alter the content of his show he has to cope with a neo-nazi group who have been angered by his forthright opinions.
Talk Radio was first produced off-Broadway at the Public Theatre in 1987 with Eric Bogosian (playwright) in the star role. It was made into a film in 1988, directed by Oliver Stone, in which Bogosian once again playing the lead character.
Eric Bogosian�s work includes 'Wake Up and Smell the Coffee,' 'SubUrbia,' 'Pounding Nails in the Floor with my Forehead,' 'Sex, Drugs, & Rock & Roll,' and 'Drinking in America' (Drama Desk Award). Talk Radio was a Nominated Finalist for the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This is Bogosian�s first play to be produced on Broadway.
Set design is by Mark Wendland, with costumes by Laura Bauer, lighting by Christopher Akerlind and sound by Richard Woodbury.
Talk Radio is being produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, and JAM Theatricals.
