'Take Me Out' sets full Broadway cast joining Jesse Williams and Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Most of the cast from the show's first run will return.

They're back for one more inning! The complete cast has been set for the return engagement of Take Me Out on Broadway, featuring most of the cast members from its first Tony-winning run earlier this spring. The limited run is at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre from October 27 to January 29.

As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Jesse Williams and Tony winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson will return to their roles as Darren Lemming and Mason Marzac, respectively. Also returning are Tony nominee Michael Oberholtzer as Shane Mungitt, Julian Cihi, Hiram Delgado, Brandon J. Dirden, Carl Lundstedt, Ken Marks, Eduardo Ramos, and Tyler Lansing Weaks.

New to the cast is Bill Heck, who replaces Patrick J. Adams in the role of Kippy Sunderstrom.

Take Me Out follows fictional Major League Baseball player Darren Lemming as he comes out as gay at the height of his career. Set mostly in his team's locker room, the play explores the unprecedented backlash — and support — he receives from his teammates, friends, and the public, and how it changes the star player's relationship with baseball for good.

Richard Greenberg's play premiered on Broadway in 2003 and won the Tony Award for Best Play. Second Stage Theater produced the show's first Broadway revival this past spring, which won the 2022 Tony for Best Revival of a Play. Scott Ellis, who directed that production, returns to direct its encore run.
