
Steve Carell, Alfred Molina to star in 'Uncle Vanya' on Broadway
Carell will make his Broadway debut in the latest revival of Anton Chekhov's classic play, adapted by Heidi Schreck in a production with Lincoln Center Theater.

The family's all here! Lincoln Center Theater has set initial casting for its production of Uncle Vanya on Broadway, featuring Steve Carell as Vanya in his Broadway debut. Performances begin at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on April 2 ahead of an April 24 opening.
Carell is best known for his starring role as Michael Scott on the sitcom The Office, which earned him six Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award. He is also an Oscar nominee for Foxcatcher, and his other best-known film credits include Little Miss Sunshine, Get Smart, The Big Short, Battle of the Sexes, Anchorman, and many more.
Alongside Carell, the Uncle Vanya Broadway cast will also feature William Jackson Harper as Astrov, Jayne Houdyshell as Mama Voinitski, Mia Katigbak as Marina, Alfred Molina as Alexander Serabryakov, Alison Pill as Sonya, and Anika Noni Rose as Yelena.

On the creative side, Uncle Vanya will have sets by Mimi Lien, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Lap Chi Chu and Elizabeth Harper, and sound by Mikhail Fiksel and Beth Lake.
Directed by Lila Neugebauer and newly translated by Pulitzer Prize and Tony nominee Heidi Schreck, Uncle Vanya follows Vanya and his niece, Sonya, whose quiet farm lives turn upside down. When Sonya's father and his wife unexpectedly arrive, troubled loves, resentments, and hopes erupt.
