In the world-premiere show by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), Phyllis (Lange) is a mother with very rigid ideas of who her two teenage children, Carl (Parsons) and Martha (Lange) should be. In the 1960s on the outskirts of D.C., they all must cope with the fact that the reality of all their lives is very different than Phyllis's plans.
