Pirate Pete's Parrot at Arthur Seelen Theater

The Queens Players presents the comedy Pirate Pete's Parrot, written and directed by Richard Mazda, at Arthur Seelen Theater from 20 - 30 Dec 2006.

Pirate Pete's Parrot: Pirate Pete's parrot is tired of birdseed and wants pancakes. Pirate Pete is late with the rent money and his evil landlord, Baron Bigbutt, threatens to throw Pete, Polly and Pete's Mum, Pam, out on the street. Pete and the crew sail away to Treasure Cove to find the treasure. On their adventure they meet Bruce the Lion, who may be King of the Jungle but would much rather be the King of Comedy. Bruce tries out his terrible jokes and songs on Pete, McAye (the 1st Mate), Jolly Roger (the 2nd Mate) and Miroslav (the Czech mate). Then, Bruce helps them find the treasure and Pete sails back to rescue Polly, who was being held for ransom by Bigbutt. Pete threatens to make Bigbutt walk the plank, but Pam takes pity on him and the Baron asks Pam to marry him. Everyone lives happily ever after.

The show advertises itself as a family show, suitable for ages 3 - 300. It is written and performed in a style, which is closely allied to the traditional English pantomime that is occasionally ribald but unerringly decent.

Pirate Pete's Parrot features Chris Jobin (Pam Pirate), Richard Mazda (Pirate Pete), Josh Berresford (Baron Bigbutt), Ryan Neal (Septimus ), Savannah Mazda (Polly Parrot), Barbara Anne Smilko (Mc Aye The 1st Mate), Tana Leigh-Pierce (Jolly Roger 2nd Mate), Alain LaForest (Miroslav Czech Mate) and Brian Cerisano (Bruce The Lion).
