First seen at London's Donmar Warehouse, Blindness will tour across North America. As part of the transfer, the socially distanced sound installation will open at the Daryl Roth Theatre, with dates to be confirmed.

Based on José Saramago's Nobel Prize-winning novel of the same name, audiences see Europe come to a halt when a driver becomes blind. As the blindness spreads through the city, everyone goes into panic, and blind people go into an empty asylum.

In order to watch Blindness , visitors listen on headphones. Juliet Stevenson provides the voice of the narrator and driver's wife.

"I am ecstatic that our production of Blindness will help open venues for audiences in North America" said Donmar Warehouse artistic director Michael Longhurst. "The inventiveness of our Donmar artists in these times enables us to share such a thrilling and apposite piece of work. We hope that this is just the start of a national and global journey for this innovative project."

Blindness will also be performed in Washington D.C. and in Toronto, Canada.
