Live theatre is finally returning to New York next month, as Blindness has posted an opening date at Daryl Roth Theatre. First seen in London, the North American transfer of Blindness will run from March 30 - July 25.

Based on José Saramago's Nobel Prize-winning dystopian novel, Blindness thrusts audiences to Europe, seeing life through the eyes of a driver who suddenly turns blind. As the blindness epidemic spreads, the world changes forever. But, from the darkness, a new society arises that's stronger than before.

Blindness premiered at London's Donmar Warehouse in 2020, with audience members listening to the production via headphones. Juliet Stevenson provides the voice of the narrator and driver's wife.

Performances of Blindness will be staged under social distancing rules. All visitors and staff with have their temperature taken and required to wear masks, with tickets sold in pairs. Each two seat pod will be socially distanced six feet away from other pods, with ventilation technologies and sanitized headphones. Up to 20 performances of Blindness will take place each week.

Blindness is at the Daryl Roth Theatre from March 30 - July 25.
