'Meat Suit, or the shitshow of motherhood' sets Off-Broadway cast

Five actors star in writer/director Aya Ogawa's play, presented by Second Stage Theater at the Pershing Square Signature Center starting in February 2026.

Second Stage Theater has set complete casting for Meat Suit, or the shitshow of motherhood off Broadway, beginning performances at the Pershing Square Signature Center on February 11 ahead of a February 25 opening.

The cast includes Lucille Lortel Award nominee Maureen Sebastian as Mother 1, Robyn Kerr as Mother 2, Cindy Cheung as Mother 3, Marina Celander as Mother 4, and Liz Wisan as Mother 5.

Written and directed by Aya Ogawa, Meat Suit, or the shitshow of motherhood is a genre-blending theatrical experience about being a mom. With bouffon-inspired physicality, satire, and original songs, the show explores motherhood's chaos, hilarity, and how every birth leads to the death of some parts of who the mother used to be.

The show also features choreography by Catherine Galasso, scenic and costume design by Jian Jung, lighting design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew and Christina F. Tang, sound design by Megumi Katayama, and original music and lyrics by Leyna Marika Papach.
