Kadeem Ali Harris, Reynaldo Piniella, Christian Thompson to join 'Thoughts of a Colored Man' Broadway cast
The three men will play their first performance on January 4.
Kadeem Ali Harris, Reynaldo Piniella, and Christian Thompson are set to join the Broadway cast of Thoughts of a Colored Man. They will replace current cast members Da'Vinchi, Dyllón Burnside, and Luke James, respectively, who are departing the show due to prior commitments. They will play their last performance January 2, with Harris, Piniella, and Thompson beginning on January 4.
Piniella currently serves as the John Nevins understudy in the Broadway premiere of Trouble in Mind, and Thompson was last seen on Broadway originating the role of Smokey Robinson/Damon Harris in Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations. Harris is making his Broadway debut with Thoughts of a Colored Man.
Original cast members Bryan Terrell Clark, Esau Pritchett, Forrest McClendon, and Tristan Mack Wilds will continue in their roles.
Keenan Scott II's play follows seven Black men throughout one day in Brooklyn, during which they share their hopes, dreams, fears, and triumphs with each other and the audience through music, poetry, and movement. Directed by Steve H. Broadnax III, Thoughts of a Colored Man is the first Broadway show in history to be written, directed, lead produced, and performed entirely by Black men. The show is currently playing a limited engagement at the Golden Theatre.
