Gabriel Byrne's 'Walking with Ghosts' to premiere on Broadway
The show is based on his bestselling memoir.
Two-time Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne will premiere his acclaimed solo show on Broadway, Walking with Ghosts, this fall. Running for 75 performances at the Music Box Theatre beginning October 18, the show will mark Byrne's return to Broadway for the first time in six years.
Walking with Ghosts is based on Byrne's bestselling memoir of the same name. With humor and heart, he looks back on his childhood in a bygone Ireland, the life of stardom he eventually left it for, and the people and places that shaped his life's path. Walking with Ghosts sold out its world-premiere engagement in Dublin earlier this year, and the show will play a weeklong run in London's West End before moving to Broadway.
Byrne received Tony Award nominations in 2000 and 2016 for A Moon for the Misbegotten and Long Day's Journey Into Night (opposite Jessica Lange), respectively. He's best known for his screen work, having received a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nominations for his performance in In Treatment. He's also appeared in more than 80 films including Excalibur, The Point of No Return, Little Women, The Usual Suspects, The Man in the Iron Mask, and Vanity Fair.
The creative team for Walking with Ghosts includes Emmy-winning and Tony-nominated director Lonny Price (Sondheim's Passion, Sweeney Todd, A Class Act), set and lighting designer Sinéad McKenna, costume designer Joan O'Clery, and composer and sound designer Sinéad Diskin.
