‘Dear Evan Hansen’ to reopen at Music Box Theatre in December
The musical will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year.

"We hope that Dear Evan Hansen's message of human connection and acceptance will feel more vital than ever" said producer Stacey Mindich. Also announced with the reopening date is a commitment to assist mental health not-for-profit partners, with an upcoming performance dedicated to mental health care workers and volunteers.
Dear Evan Hansen follows Evan Hansen, a schoolboy whose life changes forever after he pens a secret letter. The six-time Tony Award-musical opened at the Music Box Theatre in December 2016, and features a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Jordan Fisher will return to Dear Evan Hansen in the title role. Further casting is to be confirmed. When theatres closed in March 2020, the cast starred Gabrielle Carrubba (as Zoe Murphy), Jessica Phillips (as Heidi Hansen), David Jeffrey (as Connor Murphy), Christiane Noll (as Cynthia Murphy), Ivan Hernandez (as Larry Murphy), Jared Goldsmith (as Jared Kleinman), and Phoebe Koyabe (as Alana Beck)
A film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen will also premiere later this year. Ben Platt reprises his Tony Award-winning performance alongside Julianne Moore and Amy Adams, with Dear Evan Hansen in cinemas from September 2021.
Dear Evan Hansen is at the Music Box Theatre from December 11.
