- Corey Stoll and Cecily Strong will star as a couple on a first date in What Happened Was from April 14 to June 14

- All three shows are part of the Off-Broadway spring season at the Minetta Lane Theatre
Audible Theater and Together — a theatrical producing partnership between Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman — have added two more productions to their joint spring season at the Minetta Lane Theatre.
As previously announced, the season will begin with Jackman and Ella Beatty in Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, returning from Audible and Together's inaugural season in 2025. The actors reprise their roles as Jon and Annie, a professor and his 19-year-old student who enter into an affair that has ripple effects on their lives long afterward. Performances run March 17 to April 30.
Overlapping with Misconduct's run, from April 14 to June 14, is a revival of Tom Noonan’s 1992 play What Happened Was, about a first date in which small talk unravels into a deep exploration of attraction, secrets, and humans' desperate need for connection. Tony Award nominee Corey Stoll (Appropriate, House of Cards) and Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) star.
The season's third show, New Born, is a trio of monologues written by Ella Hickson and performed by Marianna Gailus (Vanya), Jackman, and Sepideh Moafi (The Pitt). The monologues center on three individuals — a tree surgeon in love, a young woman seeking her lost friend on the prarie, and a new mom consumed by an unlikely celebrity friendship — whose smallest choices ripple into major changes that connect them across centuries and continents. Performances run May 8 to June 8, overlapping with What Happened Was.
The creative team for both What Happened Was and New Born includes director Ian Rickson, set designers Brett J Banakis and Christine Jones, costume designer Kaye Voyce, lighting designer Japhy Weideman, and sound designer Mikaal Sulaiman.
As part of Audible Theater and Together's accessible ticketing initiative, 25% of seats at each performance of all the season's shows will be sold day-of for $35, exclusively at the box office or on the TodayTix app.
