It may be 40 years since Bob Fosse's Dancin' played its final performance at the Ambassador Theatre, but Bob Fosse's presence is still felt in Broadway choreography including Chicago. A Broadway revival of Bob Fosse's revue, Dancin' is currently in the works and is aiming for the 2022-2023 season.

Bob Fosse's Dancin' will be directed by Wayne Cilento, who appeared in the original 1978 company at the Broadhurst Theatre. "Bob Fosse created the original production as a tribute to dance, but we are approaching this production as a celebration of Bob himself - both the person and the artist," said Cilento. He continued by explaining "We plan on delivering a Dancin' that is every bit as eclectic and uplifting as the original, full of all its inherent edginess, but is also relevant to our current era."

The upcoming revival of Dancin' will premiere outside of New York, before transferring to Broadway. Casting, a venue, and a further creative team are to be announced.

Bob Fosse was an eight-time Tony Award-winning visionary choreographer, with credits including The Pajama Game, Pippin and directing the film adaptation of Cabaret starring Liza Minnelli.

Dancin' ran on Broadway for 1,174 performances, and was nominated for seven Tony Awards. The revue features songs including "Mr Bojangles", "Sing Sing Sing" and "Here You Come Again".

Bob Fosse's Dancin' will be on Broadway in the 2022-2023 season.
