'Ain't Too Proud' announces complete Broadway reopening cast

The story of The Temptations will resume performances on Broadway October 16.

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations has announced its complete Broadway casting. The show will resume performances October 16 at the Imperial Theatre.

All five actors playing The Temptations at the time of the Broadway shutdown in 2020 will return to their roles, including Nik Walker as Otis Williams, James Harkness as Paul Williams, Jawan M. Jackson as Melvin Franklin, Matt Manuel as David Ruffin, and Jelani Remy as Eddie Kendricks. Jackson and Harkness have been in their roles since the production opened on Broadway in 2019.

The cast also includes Esther Antoine, Saint Aubyn, E. Clayton Cornelious, J. Daughtry, Tiffany Francés, Taylor Symone Jackson, Jahi Kearse, Darius Jordan Lee, Jarvis B. Manning Jr., Morgan McGhee, Joshua Morgan, Aaron Patterson, Christian Thompson, Sir Brock Warren, Correy West, Drew Wildman Foster, Curtis Wiley, and Candice Marie Woods.

Ain't Too Proud follows the landmark Motown group's meteoric rise to fame and the internal disputes that nearly threatened their success. The show features a book by Dominique Morisseau and direction by Des McAnuff. It received the Best Choreography Tony Award in 2019 for Sergio Trujillo's work, along with 10 other nominations.
