The Daryl Roth Theatre will host the New York premiere of 44 - The Musical this fall, beginning Off-Broadway performances October 14 ahead of a November 6 opening.

Written, composed, and directed by Eli Bauman, 44 - The Musical is a satirical retelling of Barack Obama's rise to the presidency, his administration, and the eccentric characters he met throughout his terms — all told as Joe Biden "kinda sorta" remembers it.

Bauman, a former Obama campaign staffer before becoming a TV and theatre writer, premiered 44 - The Musical in L.A. in 2023, where it won seven Broadway World L.A. Awards and later returned in 2025. The show then ran in Chicago earlier this summer to critical acclaim.

Cast and additional creative team members for 44 - The Musical off Broadway has yet to be announced.
