Jainardo Batista Sterling stars as Rubén in Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. A Puerto Rican singer and percussionist from a family with a long tradition in music and theater in Puerto Rico, he served as a Jazz Ambassador of Jazz at Lincoln Center, touring Central and Northwest Africa as well as South America and the Caribbean. He has performed in the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, Essaouira Gnawa Festival in Morocco, and Grammy-nominated Raices Haberas at New York's Town Hall.
