National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America tickets

Experience America’s bright musical future on Carnegie Hall’s biggest stage. This evening’s performance by the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) opens with Barber’s playful first orchestral work: Overture to The School for Scandal. Gershwin’s jazz-infused Piano Concerto in F follows, featuring soloist Kirill Gerstein—a pianist praised for his “blazing technique” (The Wall Street Journal) and “the kind of … virtuosic music-making that keeps classical music alive” (The Observer). Bartók’s quintessential Concerto for Orchestra rounds out the program. For the first time, NYO-USA is conducted by Karina Canellakis, the exemplary chief conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and principal guest conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
