A half-human, half-bat teen, played by Tony nominee Taylor Trensch (Floyd Collins), turns a small town upside down in this “fervid, wicked, and arch” (The New York Times) horror-comedy with a pulsing pop-rock score by Tony-nominated Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde: The Musical). This darkly comic yet deeply heartfelt musical is helmed by Tony-winning director Alex Timbers (Beetlejuice, Moulin Rouge!). It’s a story about the universal need for belonging and love that’s timed perfectly for the Halloween season.
Inspired by a popular tabloid article from the 1990s, this “bloodsucker’s ball” of a musical (The New Yorker) quickly achieved cult classic status when it premiered Off-Broadway in 2001. Originally orchestrated by Tony winner Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton), this production shines new light on this beloved score with expanded orchestrations.
