Who said critics don't matter anymore? Adam Rapp's The Sound Inside got a rave review from Jesse Green in the New York Times when it premiered at Berkshire's powerhouse Williamstown Theatre Festival in northwest Massachusetts in July 2018, and now it has been propelled on to a Broadway transfer to Studio 54, under the auspices of Lincoln Centre Theater and some 17 commercial producing partners. That it has taken some heavy lifting (and no doubt a considerable financial commitment) to do so is a...

The Sound Inside on Broadway Information
Playwright Adam Rapp was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater to write this scintillating two-hander, which originally staged its world premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival during the summer of 2018. The production, under the direction of Tony Award winner David Cromer starred Tony, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Mary-Louise Parker as Yale creative writing professor Bella Baird, opposite Will Hochman as her gifted student Christopher Dunn. Hailed by The New York Times as "an astonishing new play," the production transfers to Broadway, courtesy of Lincoln Center Theater, Jeffrey Richards and Rebecca Gold, for a limited engagement at Studio 54, reuniting Parker, Hochman and director David Cromer.
Adam Rapp's previous work includes Red Light Winter, a 2006 Pulitzer Prize finalist, Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling, and Essential Self-Defense, among others, and The Sound Inside marks the playwright's long-overdue Broadway debut.
Mary-Louise Parker is already considered a stage veteran, having appeared regularly both on and off-Broadway. She is a 2001 Tony Award winner for her performance in Proof and also earned Tony nominations for her efforts in Reckless in 2005 and for her Broadway debut in Prelude to a Kiss in 1990. Her many Off-Broadway credits include an Obie and Lucille Lortel Award-winning turn in How I Learned to Drive and she is internationally known for her Golden Globe-winning role on Showtime's "Weeds," as well as her recurring role on NBC's "The West Wing" and her Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Harper Pitt in HBO's acclaimed TV adaptation of Tony Kushner's Angels in America. She is also widely recognised for starring opposite Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren in the 2010 hit movie "RED" and its 2013 sequel "RED 2."
Parker wowed audiences and critics alike in her last two-hander on Broadway, Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Heisenberg by Simon Stephens, so, why not book yourselves in for another master class?
