‘Seven Deadly Sins’ to transfer to New York’s Meatpacking District
The acclaimed production features writing by seven playwrights.
UPDATE: Seven Deadly Sins will be extended by one week. Seven Deadly Sins performances are now to July 25, with Seven Deadly Sins tickets on sale now.
After a world premiere in Miami in late 2020, Seven Deadly Sins will transfer to New York this summer. Tectonic Theater Project, Madison Wells Live and Miami New Drama will present the outdoor production in New York’s Meatpacking District, with six weeks of performances beginning from June 22.
Seven Deadly Sins is a collection of seven 10-minute plays all focusing on how individual sins affect our daily lives. Audiences will watch The Seven Deadly Sins in small, socially-distanced groups with headphones on.
Each play is written by a different playwright, including Moisés Kaufman (Greed), who also directs the production. Speaking about the event, Kaufman said: “Tectonic Theater Project is committed to exploring theatrical potential, pushing boundaries, and creating formally daring performances. Producing The Seven Deadly Sins in our beloved city as one of the first live, in-person performance events is our profound belief that theater can also heal us as a people.”
