'Plaza Suite' extends Broadway run to July 10

Plaza Suite is in for an extended stay. The revival of Neil Simon's farce, starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker on Broadway, has extended its run at the Hudson Theatre through July 10. The show was initially scheduled to run through June 12 but has had multiple extensions due to demand, with the latest extension being to July 1.
Each of Plaza Suite's three acts has Broderick (a two-time Tony winner) and Parker (a two-time Emmy winner) playing a different couple. The first sees them as the Nashes, a long-married couple whose relationship is on the decline, while the second sees them as Jesse Kiplinger and Muriel Tate, a pair of high school flames reuniting after 17 years to rekindle their romance. In the third act, they play the Hubleys, nervous parents of an even more nervous bride who's locked herself in the bathroom on her wedding day.
Broderick and Parker, a real-life celebrity couple, are sharing the Broadway stage in Plaza Suite for the first time since 1995 in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The New York Theatre Guide review of Plaza Suite calls the show "one of Broadway's biggest events of the season" and reads, "The show packs moments that are gleefully LOL, is deeper than you might expect, and the real-life married stars co-piloting this vintage vehicle are in fine form."
