Girl From the North Country ain't going nowhere. After going on hiatus from January 23, the musical will reopen April 29 for a limited Broadway engagement at the Belasco Theatre. The show will play 50 performances, closing June 11.

The pre-hiatus cast members returning include Todd Almond, Colin Bates, Jeannette Bayardelle, Matthew Frederick Harris, Caitlin Houlahan, Robert Joy, Luba Mason, Matt McGrath, Tom Nelis, Jay O. Sanders, John Schiappa, Austin Scott, Kimber Elayne Sprawl and Mare Winningham. Marc Kudish will be replaced by Craig Bierko.

The Belasco Theatre has been the home of Girl From the North Country since the show's first Broadway performances in February 2020. The show initially intended to change venues because To Kill a Mockingbirdwhich also went on hiatus in January, planned to reopen at the Belasco from June 1. It is unclear when and where To Kill a Mockingbird is set to reopen, as its old venue, the Shubert Theatre, is occupied by POTUS.

Girl From the North Country sets the musical catalogue of Bob Dylan to an original story by Conor McPherson, set in Dylan's hometown of Duluth, Minnesota. The central characters are the guests and owners of an inn there, weathering financial, occupational, and romantic troubles during the Great Depression. The interactions these people have with each other in the course of a few months change their lives for good.

The musical officially opened in March 2020 just before the Broadway shutdown, and reopened in October 2021. Because North Country opened so close to the shutdown, the show did not compete in the 2020 Tony Awards and is instead eligible for the 2022 ceremony.
