1776 tickets can be yours, yours, yours! The Broadway revival of 1776, which begins performances tonight, will offer rush tickets on TodayTix for its entire limited run. The musical is set to play through January 8 at the American Airlines Theatre.

A limited number of $35 1776 rush tickets will be available on the TodayTix app the morning of each performance on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 10 a.m. Users must "unlock" the rush program prior to their desired performance day by sharing the rush program on social media. They can set an alert to be notified when the rush opens each day. Users can request either one or two tickets for that afternoon or evening's performance.

1776 actually begins in 1775, when John Adams is trying to convince his fellow politicians to declare America independent from Britain. It proves a tough task, and the musical dramatizes all the debates, alliances, infighting, and planning that went into making the United States happen.

The musical, written by Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards, premiered on Broadway in 1969 and won Best Musical that year. In this revival, the historically white and male characters are all played by female, non-binary, and transgender actors of various races. Learn more about the 2022 revival of 1776 on Broadway.
