Is Wonder getting the Broadway treatment?
According to Deadline, a musical adaptation of R.J. Palacio's bestselling novel Wonder (which has already been adapted into a 2017 film by Lionsgate) is in development. Tony Award-winning producer Jill Furman is behind the project, partnering with Palacio and Lionsgate, with further creative team members to be announced. The film, which stars Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson as the parents of a young boy named Auggie Pullman, who was born with facial deformities, charts the trials and tribulations of transitioning into a mainstream school. The screenplay was written by Steven Conrad and the Tony Award-winning scribe behind Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Jack Thorne.
