It's still rocking! Stereophonic on Broadway, which was originally scheduled for a limited run through August 18, has announced an extension through January 5, 2025 at the Golden Theatre. Get Stereophonic Broadway tickets now.

Stereophonic is a play with music (not a musical), written by David Adjmi and featuring original rock songs by Arcade Fire's Will Butler. A fictional 1970s rock band on the verge of superstardom is in the recording studio, creating their next hit album — if drugs and infighting don't break them apart first.

On April 30, Stereophonic made history when it was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, the most of any play (as opposed to a musical) ever. Its nominations include Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Original Score, and Best Orchestrations.

The current cast of actor-musicians will all continue with the show through its extension. They include 2024 Tony Award nominees Will Brill as Reg, Juliana Canfield as Holly, Eli Gelb as Grover, Tom Pecinka as Peter, and Sarah Pidgeon as Diana, alongside Chris Stack as Simon and Andrew R. Butler as Charlie.

"The naturalistic, overlapping dialogue ranges from slow meditations on donuts to fiery, violent spats between bandmates, and it’s completely absorbing," New York Theatre Guide's Stereophonic Broadway review reads.
