'Public Charge' names Off-Broadway cast
Julissa Reynoso and Michael J. Chepiga's world-premiere political drama, inspired by true events, begins performances at The Public Theater in March.

The Public Theater has named the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of *Public Charge* off Broadway, running from March 12 to April 5. Opening night is March 25.
The complete Public Charge cast includes Marinda Anderson as Cheryl Mills, Maggie Bofill as Josefina Vidal and others, John J. Concado as Consular Officer 1 and others, Dan Domingues as Ricardo Zuniga, Zabryna Guevara as Julissa Reynoso, Armando Riesco as Bruno Rodriguez and others), Al Rodrigo as Bolanos/Mujica and others), and Barbara Walsh as Judy Gross. Nate Betancourt, Yesenia Iglesias, Paco Lozano, and Nairoby Otero are understudies.
The show also features direction by Doug Hughes, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Haydee Zelideth, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by David Van Tieghem, video design by Lucy Mackinnon, hair and wigs design by Earon Nealey, prop management by Samantha Llanes Gordon, and dramaturgy by Jack Phillips Moore.
Written by former United States Ambassador Julissa Reynoso and Michael J. Chepiga, and inspired by true events, Public Charge follows Dominican immigrant Julissa, who grows up to have a successful practice at a Wall Street law firm and later supervise Caribbean and Central American Affairs for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The play follows Julissa and other public servants through encounters with those facing environmental destruction, imprisonment, immigration challenges, and more, as they cling to the belief that their government can be a force for good.
