Dylan Baker, Madeline Brewer, Kelvin Harrison Jr., more to lead new comedy 'The Disappear' off Broadway

BAFTA Award nominee Erica Schmidt wrote and directs her second world-premiere production with Audible Theater, following 2023's Lucy, in January 2026.

The world-premiere comedy play The Disappear, written and directed by Erica Schmidt, will premiere off Broadway at Audible's Minetta Lane Theatre from January 8 to February 15, 2026. Opening night is January 15.

The Disappear sees perfect power couple Benjamin Braxton and Mira Blair go gloriously awry, taking their friends, affairs, and daughter along for the ride.

The cast includes Emmy nominee Dylan Baker as Michael, Emmy nominee Madeline Brewer as Julie, SAG Award winner Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Raf, Obie Award winner Hamish Linklater as Benjamin, Anna Mirodin as Dolly, and Tony winner Miriam Silverman as Mira.

Writer/director Schmidt is known for her version of the classic play Cyrano, which she also adapted into a 2021 movie musical starring Peter Dinklage, and her 2023 play Lucy, her most recent production with Audible Theater.

Alongside Schmidt, the creative team includes set designer Brett J. Banakis, costume designers Jennifer Moeller and Miriam Kelleher, lighting designer Cha See, and sound designer Palmer Hefferan.

As with all Audible Theater productions, The Disappear will be recorded and released as an audio drama at a later date.
